Alex Marquardt is CNN's Chief National Security Correspondent based in Washington, D.C., where he reports on foreign policy, U.S. intelligence agencies, and defense.
He graduated from Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service in 2004. Before moving to CNN in 2017, Marquardt spent nearly ten years as an international correspondent for ABC News, stationed in Moscow, Jerusalem, and Beirut.
Over his career, he has covered the Arab Spring, the war in Syria, the conflict in Ukraine, and major foreign cyberattacks.
