Aparna Sen is a veteran Indian film director, screenwriter, and actress. She primarily worked in the Bengali cinema. Over the years, she has won many awards, including nine National Film Awards and a Padma Shri from the Government of India.
Aparna grew up in Hazaribagh and Kolkata. However, the interesting part about Aparna Sen biography is that she is the daughter of the veteran critic and filmmaker Chidananda Dasgupta and the niece of Bengali poet Jibanananda Das.

Aparna was born in a Bengali Baidya family, originally from Cox's Bazar in the Chittagong District of today’s Bangladesh. Aparna Sen mother name was Supriya Dasgupta. She was a costume designer and even won a National Film Award for Best Costume Design for the film Amodini (1994). Aparna Sen mother was 73 years old when she earned this award.
The First Chapter of Her Marriage
Aparna Sen first husband was Sanjoy Sen. She married him in the early 1970s. He was an ad filmmaker and the brother of Ajoy Sen. Sadly, their marriage ended in separation. Sanjoy passed away by suicide, soon after that.
