The political commentator and Pakistani female journalist Asma Shirazi is much popular among masses. As per the Asma Shirazi profile, she did postgraduate degree from Punjab University in political science. She began her career at Radio Pakistan as the radio presenter. In the year 2001, she joined Geo News and in the year 2006 she became the first female war correspondent of Pakistan after the coverage of 2006 Lebanon War.
Asma Shirazi is also the first Pakistani journalist who had won the Peter Mackler Award for Courageous and Ethical Journalism. However, she won the award in October 2014 that is given on yearly basis to the journalist who has shown commitment towards the unbiased reporting.
