Bill Jordan was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. He attended Columbus High School and competed in track, basketball, and soccer. Before graduating in 1969, Bill received the All-State Honor Award.
Bill was recruited by many major colleges, but he settled on Ole Miss, who played as a wide receiver and caught a pass from football legend Archie Manning.
After graduating from Ole his misses, Bill returned to Columbus and worked for his family boats his dealers, Leon his Jordan his Marine. In 1983 Bill started Spartan Archery Products behind the back of his family's boat business. The company designed and manufactured a variety of archery he wear and accessories in the basic woodland and WWII camouflage patterns popular at the time.
At the same time, Bill began designing and developing what would become his Realtree, the world's most effective camouflage pattern, which he unveiled at his 1986 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoors trade show.
In the late '80s, Bill introduced his first Team Realtree logo to ensure readers understood the camouflage they saw on the pages of the magazine. Today, Team Realtree is used in hundreds of products, including the race car of Daytona 500 Champion Kevin Harvick. In 1992, the television program "Realtree Outdoors" was broadcast nationally on what was then TNN.
In the mid-90s, Realtree sponsored his No. 31 car for Richard Childress Racing driven by Mike Skinner, and in later years Dale Earnhardt's his No. 3 car, Kevin Harvick's No. 29 car, and several other cars. Sponsorship and Merchandise Deal Sponsorship.
In 1999, Bill founded Immersion Graphics Corporation. The company uses a hydrographic film process to apply camouflage patterns and other decorative patterns to a variety of hardware such as ATVs, bows and guns.
