Dr. Israr Ahmed (April 26, 1932 – April 14, 2010) was a renowned Pakistani Islamic scholar, philosopher and founder of the Tanzeem-e-Islami organization. He was born in East Punjab, India, and later migrated to Lahore, Pakistan after the partition of India in 1947. Dr. Israr Ahmed authored more than 60 books on various aspects of Islam including Tafseer of the Quran and Islamic ideology. He also delivered thousands of lectures on Islam which were attended by large crowds in Pakistan and abroad.
