Born in 1986 in West London, he studied Arabic at the School of Oriental and African Studies and later earned a master's in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics. Before joining ABC News in 2017, he worked at the BBC as a Beirut correspondent. He has reported from over 60 countries across all seven continents, covering events including the war in Ukraine, the aftermath of the October 7 attack in Israel, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He authored the book "The Inherited Mind," published in 2025.
