Javed Ahmad Ghamidi, born Muhammad Shafique, is a Pakistani Islamic scholar and philosopher. He is known for his independent, non-traditionalist interpretation of Islam. He leads the Ghamidi Center of Islamic Learning in the United States. He founded Al-Mawrid Institute of Islamic Sciences in 1983 to promote research free from sectarian bias. He also served on Pakistan's Council of Islamic Ideology (2006-2008).
