Jim Leonhard was born on October 27, 1982, in Ladysmith to Bill and Jane Leonhard. Played college football at the University of Wisconsin and was a three-time All-American, with 21 interceptions.
Leonhard was drafted in 2005 and went on to have 10 seasons in the NFL, with the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and Cleveland Browns. After retiring, he turned to coaching and was named defensive coordinator and interim head coach of Wisconsin in 2022. Leonhard was given the job of defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills in 2026.
