Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri is a Pakistani politician, diplomat, author, and lawyer. He served as Pakistan’s Foreign Minister (2002-2007). He began his political career with Tehreek-e-Istiqlal in the 1970s and participated in democratic movements including PNA, MRD, and PDA. He later joined PML-N, was elected MNA in 1997, moved to PML-Q in 2001, and was re-elected in 2002 from Kasur. He joined PTI in 2012.
The Khurshid Kasuri biography states that he was born on June 18, 1941, in Lahore, British India. He comes from a prominent Arain political family. His father, Mahmud Ali Kasuri, was a lawyer and opposition politician, and his grandfather, Maulana Abdul Qadir Kasuri, was a leader in the Indian National Congress.
Kasuri is the author of Neither a Hawk nor a Dove (2015), offering an insider account of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He serves as an executive member of the Beaconhouse National University Board.
