Laiq Zada Laiq was a Pakistani Pashto-language poet, fiction writer, dramatist, and radio director. He served as Director of Radio Pakistan Peshawar. He wrote over 36 books, more than 120 short stories, 500+ radio plays, and 12 television plays. His work enriched Pashto literature through poetry, prose, fiction, and drama. Notable work includes the fiction collection "Mata Aina."
The Laiq Zada Laiq biography states he was born on January 15, 1959, in Madyan, Swat, Pakistan. He earned master’s degrees in Urdu and Pashto literature from the University of Peshawar. He also completed a master’s in political science from the University of Karachi.
He received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. In 2021, he won the Kamal-e-Fun Award, Pakistan’s highest literary honor. Laiq Zada Laiq died of a heart attack on October 30, 2023, in Peshawar at the age of 64.
