The incident revolved around a relationship between 21-year-old Saqib Hussain and 46-year-old Ansareen. After being in a relationship for three years, Ansareen decided to end it. However, Hussain reacted negatively to this decision and threatened to reveal the affair to Ansareen's husband.

In an attempt to resolve the situation, Ansareen agreed to repay the money Hussain had spent on her during their relationship. Subsequently, a meeting was arranged between Ansareen, her daughter Mahek, and Hussain at a Tesco car park in February of the previous year.

During the meeting, Ansareen and Mahek arrived with a group of individuals, some of whom had concealed their faces and one of whom carried a weapon. Hussain, accompanied by his friend Ijazuddin, fled the scene as the group pursued them at high speed. In a frantic 999 call, Hussain reported being chased and fearing for his life. The pursuit ended tragically in a fatal collision that split Hussain's car in two and resulted in both his and Ijazuddin's immediate deaths from multiple injuries before the car caught fire.

As a result of this incident, Ansareen, Mahek, and five other participants were sentenced to life imprisonment for their roles in the double murder.
