Abdul Qadeer Baloch was a Pakistani human rights activist and retired bank employee. He was known as Mama Qadeer for his father-like role in supporting families of missing persons. The Mama Qadeer Baloch biography tells that he started his career working at United Bank in Quetta’s Hazarganji branch. He became a leading voice for families of missing persons after 2009. He co-founded the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) and served as its vice chairman. He ran a daily protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club for over 16 years and led a nearly 3,000-kilometer-long march from Quetta to Islamabad in 2013–2014. He became a symbol of nonviolent resistance.
