Mario Calabresi is an Italian journalist, writer, and former editor of newspapers from Milan. He started his career as a Parliamentary reporter for ANSA and was then assigned to the newspaper La Repubblica and finally to La Stampa. In 2009, Calabresi was appointed editor-in-chief of La Stampa, the youngest in the newspaper's history. In 2016, he moved back to the editorial team of La Repubblica as editor-in-chief, where he remained until 2019. In addition to journalism, Calabresi has written books on history, memory, resilience, and personal stories. His work has branched out to podcasts in 2020, when he co-founded the Italian podcast company Chora Media. In September 2026, Calabresi announced his intent to participate in the election for the mayor of Milan in the spring of 2027.
