Norah O'Donnell is an American print and broadcast journalist who has spent decades working across major U.S. news networks. She spent years as the anchor of the CBS Evening News and as a senior correspondent for 60 Minutes.
Born on January 23, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas, Norah grew up in a military family and spent part of her childhood in South Korea. She earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in liberal studies from Georgetown University. She started her broadcasting career as a panelist and writer at Roll Call before spending 12 years at NBC News covering Capitol Hill, the Pentagon, and the White House.
She moved to CBS News in 2011, co-anchoring CBS This Morning for seven years before moving to the CBS Evening News anchor chair in 2019. Over her career, she has interviewed multiple US presidents, world leaders, and high-profile figures.
