Omar Shahid Hamid is a Pakistani police officer, crime novelist, and member of the Police Service of Pakistan. He has served in Karachi's Lyari district, the Sindh Counter Terrorism Department, and Pakistan's Intelligence Bureau. His books include The Prisoner, The Spinner's Tale, The Party Worker, The Fix, Betrayal, and The Election. His father is Malik Shahid Hamid, the former managing director of KESC.
