Pervez Amirali Hoodbhoy is a Pakistani nuclear physicist, author, and public intellectual. He is a Distinguished Professor of Physics and Mathematics at LUMS. He previously taught physics at QAU. He has also worked as a visiting professor at MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Maryland, and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.
He founded and chairs Mashal Books, which publishes Urdu translations of scientific works. He co-founded The Black Hole, a science outreach center in Islamabad. He produced the documentaries Pakistan and India Under the Nuclear Shadow and Crossing the Lines: Kashmir, Pakistan, India. He is a regular columnist for Dawn and contributes to The New York Times and The Washington Post.
