Ram Vanji Sutar was an Indian sculptor and artist. The Ram Sutar biography tells that he was a pioneer in large-scale bronze memorials and transformed Indian monumental art. Ram received many awards for his work, including the Padma Shri in 1999, the Padma Bhushan in 2016, the Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony in 2016, and the Maharashtra Bhushan in 2024.

He was a gold medalist from Sir J.J. School of Art and Architecture in Mumbai. Ram Sutar most famous work is the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue at 182 meters, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
