Murder of Reagan Simmons-Hancock
Reagan Michelle Simmons-Hancock (November 14, 1998–October 9, 2020) was murdered and fetal abducted on October 9, 2020, in New Boston, Texas. Simmons-Hancock was 36 weeks pregnant when she was bludgeoned to death by the offender, Taylor Rene Parker (born December 8, 1992). Parker then abducted Simmons-Hancock's child, Braxlynn Sage Hancock, who died on October 9, 2020, by severing her from the victim's abdomen. The infant did not make it out alive. Ten months before to Simmons-Hancock's death, Parker had lied to her then-boyfriend, Wade Griffin, about being pregnant. She had even pretended to be pregnant to other people. On November 9, 2022, Parker was charged with capital murder, found guilty, and given the death penalty.
