Riaz Afridi is a Pakistani former cricketer. He played as a right-arm medium-fast bowler and batted in the lower order as a right-handed batsman. He is the elder brother of cricketer Shaheen Shah Afridi. Riaz played an important role in introducing Shaheen to hardball cricket during his early years.
The Riaz Afridi biography states that he was born on January 21, 1985, in Peshawar, Pakistan. He belongs to the Zakhakhel Afridi tribe from Landi Kotal in the Khyber District. His international career was brief and limited to one Test match, which he played in 2004 against Sri Lanka.
At the domestic level, he represented the FATA and Peshawar regions. In 2007, he joined the rebel Indian Cricket League. He also played club cricket in England for Great Ayton Cricket Club during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
