Tippi Hedren (born in New Ulm, Minnesota, on January 19, 1930) is an American actress, known for her role in Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 film, The Birds. Hitchcock signed her to a seven-year contract after spotting her in a TV commercial.

Hedren is also known for her advocacy work, particularly on behalf of big cats. In 1972, she began rescuing big cats and moved them to a property called the Shambala Preserve. She founded the Roar Foundation in 1983, a philanthropic organization dedicated to funding the animals' needs at Shambala. Hedren was a driving force behind the Big Cat Public Safety Act, which was signed into U.S. federal law in 2022.
