Alexa von Tobel is this American entrepreneur, author, investor and financial expert, mostly recognized for the way she blends personal finance with technology. She was born on February 23, 1984, in Florida, and from early on she had this real pull toward financial planning, like it was always there. She went to Harvard University and studied psychology, then later she earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
In 2009, von Tobel founded LearnVest, which was set up to make professional financial advice easier to reach for everyday consumers, not just the well connected crowd. The business grew into a big personal finance platform, and eventually it was acquired by Northwestern Mutual in 2015. After that she became a managing partner at Inspired Capital, a venture capital firm that she co-founded with Penny Pritzker.
