Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I shoot some game and then find my arrow in it the next day.' He said: 'If you know that your arrow killed it, and you dont see any marks of predators, then eat it.'

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ أَرْمِي الصَّيْدَ فَأَجِدُ فِيهِ مِنَ الْغَدِ سَهْمِي،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ سَهْمَكَ قَتَلَهُ وَلَمْ تَرَ فِيهِ أَثَرَ سَبُعٍ فَكُلْ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ،‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَى شُعْبَةُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ مِثْلَهُ،‏‏‏‏ وَكِلَا الْحَدِيثَيْنِ صَحِيحٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ.

عدی بن حاتم رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میں شکار کو تیر مارتا ہوں پھر اگلے دن اس میں اپنا تیر پاتا ہوں ( اس شکار کا کیا حکم ہے؟ ) آپ نے فرمایا: ”جب تمہیں معلوم ہو جائے کہ تمہارے ہی تیر نے شکار کو مارا ہے اور تم اس میں کسی اور درندے کا اثر نہ دیکھو تو اسے کھاؤ“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- شعبہ نے یہ حدیث ابوبشر سے اور عبدالملک بن میسرہ نے سعید بن جبیر سے، انہوں نے عدی بن حاتم سے روایت کی ہے، دونوں روایتیں صحیح ہیں، ۳- اس باب میں ابوثعلبہ خشنی سے بھی روایت ہے، ۴- اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔
