Narrated Suwaid bin Ghafalah: That 'Umar gave a Khutbah at Al-Jabiyah and he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prohibited silk except for two finger's worth of space, or three, or four. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ بِالْجَابِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْحَرِيرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا مَوْضِعَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ ثَلَاثٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ أَرْبَعٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

سوید بن غفلہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   عمر نے مقام جابیہ میں خطبہ دیا اور کہا: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ریشم سے منع فرمایا سوائے دو، یا تین، یا چار انگشت کے برابر ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
