Narrated 'Abdullah bin Al-Harith: My father had me married so he invited people, and Safwan bin Umayyah was among them. So he said: 'Indeed the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Bite the meat (with your teeth) for indeed it is more enjoyable and more wholesome. He said: There are narration on this topic from 'Aishah and Abu Hurairah. [Abu 'Eisa said:] We do not know of this Hadith except through the narration of 'Abdul-Karim. Some of the people of knowledge have criticized 'Abdul-Karim Al-Mu'allim because of his memory, Ayyub As-Sakhtiyani was among them.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ زَوَّجَنِي أَبِي فَدَعَا أُنَاسًا فِيهِمْ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ انْهَسُوا اللَّحْمَ نَهْسًا فَإِنَّهُ أَهْنَأُ وَأَمْرَأُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فِي عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْمُعَلِّمِ مِنْهُمْ أَيُّوبُ السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ.

عبداللہ بن حارث کہتے ہیں کہ   میرے باپ نے میری شادی کی اور لوگوں کو مدعو کیا، ان میں صفوان بن امیہ رضی الله عنہ بھی تھے، انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”گوشت کو دانت سے نوچ کر کھاؤ اس لیے کہ وہ زیادہ جلد ہضم ہوتا ہے، اور لذیذ ہوتا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- اس حدیث کو ہم صرف عبدالکریم کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں اور عبدالکریم المعلم کے حافظہ کے بارے میں اہل علم نے کلام کیا ہے، کلام کرنے والوں میں ایوب سختیانی بھی ہیں، ۲- اس باب میں عائشہ اور ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہما سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔
