Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah(S.A.W) said: Whoever leaves wealth then it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves poor dependents then it (the responsibility) is for me.

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ هَذَا وَأَتَمَّ مَعْنَى ضَيَاعًا ضَائِعًا لَيْسَ لَهُ شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَنَا أَعُولُهُ وَأُنْفِقُ عَلَيْهِ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے ( مرنے کے بعد ) کوئی مال چھوڑا تو وہ اس کے وارثوں کا ہے، اور جس نے ایسی اولاد چھوڑی جس کے پاس کچھ بھی نہیں ہے تو اس کی کفالت میرے ذمہ ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- زہری نے یہ حدیث «عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» کی سند سے روایت کی ہے اور وہ حدیث اس سے طویل اور مکمل ہے، ۳- اس باب میں جابر اور انس رضی الله عنہما سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۴- «ضياعا» کا معنی یہ ہے کہ ایسی اولاد جس کے پاس کچھ نہ ہو تو میں ان کی کفالت کروں گا اور ان پر خرچ کروں گا ۱؎۔
