The traditions mentioned above has also been transmitted by Khalid bin Khalid al-Yashkuri through different chain of narrators. This version has: I (Hudhaifah) asked: Will any be spared after the use of the sword ? He replied: There will be remnant with specks in its eye and an illusory truce. He then transmitted the rest of the tradition. Qatadah applied this to the apostasy during the Caliphate of Abu Bakr. The word aqdha' (sing. qadhan) means specks, hudnah means truce and dakhan means malice.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْيَشْكُرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ بَعْدَ السَّيْفِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَقِيَّةٌ عَلَى أَقْذَاءٍ وَهُدْنَةٌ عَلَى دَخَنٍ ثُمَّ سَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ قَتَادَةُ يَضَعُهُ عَلَى الرِّدَّةِ الَّتِي فِي زَمَنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَلَى أَقْذَاءٍ يَقُولُ قَذًى وَهُدْنَةٌ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ صُلْحٌ عَلَى دَخَنٍ عَلَى ضَغَائِنَ.

خالد بن خالد یشکری سے یہی حدیث مروی ہے اس میں یہ ہے کہ   حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: میں نے عرض کیا: پھر تلوار کے بعد کیا ہو گا؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: باقی لوگ رہیں گے مگر دلوں میں ان کے فساد ہو گا، اور ظاہر میں صلح ہو گی پھر آگے انہوں نے پوری حدیث ذکر کی۔ راوی کہتے ہیں: قتادہ اسے ( تلوار کو ) اس فتنہ ارتداد پر محمول کرتے تھے جو ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے زمانہ میں ہوا، اور «اقذاء» کی تفسیر «قذی» سے یعنی غبار اور گندگی سے جو آنکھ یا پینے کی چیز میں پڑ جاتی ہے، اور «ھدنہ» کی تفسیر صلح سے«دخن» کی تفسیر دلوں کے فساد اور کینوں سے کرتے تھے۔
