An Exclusive Interview with Khaqan Sikander, CEO Naya Jeevan & doctHers

Recently, NayaJeevan and doctHERs collaborated with each other as both companies announced Khaqan Sikander as their joint CEO, effective November 1st, 2019.

Hamariweb interviewed Khaqan Sikander to know about the key aspects of his personal and professional life and, his plans for taking Naya Jeevan and doctHERs to a new high. The services and contribution of Naya Jeevan and doctHERs in the health sector of Pakistan are also discussed.

When talking about Khaqan Sikander, he is a man who has great global exposure. He did almost everything that usually seems difficult for the masses. From traveling the whole world, working in conflict zones, surviving an intense war, and living in refugee camps, he emerged as a winner in all these situations. He has also written a book, started a company, and managed the nationally televised crises.

Khaqan Sikander has read several key subjects such as management, creative writing, economics, diplomacy, and different foreign languages from France and the United States. The execution of SDG focused projects with the United Nations is also his key accomplishment. He also served as the member Board of Directors (health) and General Manager at the Aman Foundation. However, Khaqan Sikander’s diversified portfolio became a key reason for his selection as the CEO of both NayaJeevan and doctHERs.

NayaJeevan offers effective health and wellness solution for organizations and their staff. They have collaboration with different multinational corporations (MNCs) and they are doing a great job by offering health and wellness plans to the low-income stakeholders. However, the plan is usually co-financed by NayaJeevan's corporate partners.

In a short span of time, they succeeded to gain the trust of big giants such as Unilever, Friesland Campina (Engro Foods), Shell and RB and became their trusted insurance provider.

On the other side, doctHERs is a perfect example of women empowerment. It is the digital health platform that utilizes the skills of most talented female doctors to meet the requirement s of health consumers through telemedicine or any other nurse assisted technology.

doctHERs operates on a great working model. They recruit, equip and train female frontline workers such as lady health workers, midwives, nurses and later deploy them in corporate offices, factories, etc. However, these workers perform diagnosis and treatment under the supervision of remotely located highly qualified female doctors.

In just around a year, doctHERs positively impacted the lives of over a million people. On the other side, it is also inducted in into the Million Lives Club, a global initiative supported by the Global Innovation Fund. However, the club acknowledges social entrepreneurs and innovators who are transforming the lives of people living on less than $5 per day.

It is a great sign for the Pakistani health sector that both NayaJeevan and doctHERs will work together and will deliver the health and wellness solutions to the public and private sector. We can expect that both these companies will flourish under the supervision and leadership of Khaqan Sikander.
