Woman Discovers Lost Wedding Ring Growing on
Carrot
According to Swedish paper Dagens Nyheter, it takes more than silver
bells and cockle shells to make Lena Paahlsson’s garden grow. For one
particular batch of carrots in her backyard, it took a piece of shiny
white gold. In 1995, Paahlsson lost her custom-designed wedding band,
after taking it off in her kitchen when baking during the Christmas
holiday. The ring disappeared soon thereafter, never to be seen again.
The Paahlssons even tore up their kitchen floor in vain. This last
Christmas, sixteen years later, Paahlsson pulled up carrots in her
garden, and wrapped around the top of one of her freshly pulled carrots,
covered in dirt, was her long-lost white gold wedding band. Paahlsson
and her husband Ola believe the ring may’ve been thrown out with
vegetable compost, where it was sent to the backyard, or perhaps even to
their sheep. At some point, after some timely carrot plantings, the ring
was ready to re-emerge into the light.“I had given up hope,” said
Paahlsson. “Now that I have found the ring again I want to be able to
use it.” After a good cleaning and a resizing, Paahlsson believes the
ring will be good as, well, gold.

A crocodile has lost two teeth after charging
workers at a reptile park
A MASSIVE saltwater crocodile has charged at two workers at a reptile
park north of Sydney and stolen their lawnmower. The five-metre croc
named Elvis attacked the staff at the Australian Reptile Park at Gosford
after they went into his enclosure about 9am (AEST). The men used their
landmowers as a barrier when the hulking beast lunged at them but they
managed to escape unharmed. The 50-year-old croc lost two teeth in the
encounter and is now guarding one of the lawnmowers. Staff will try and
extract the lawnmower later in the day. The park says Elvis is the
unfriendliest crocodile you'd ever have the displeasure of meeting.

The dad who donned 170 costumes to wave at his
son's school bus
As teenagers, we were embarrassed by everything our parents did in
public. Every noise, every sentence, every outfit worn by our
fashionably inept dads was sure to be the next ruinous example as to why
we should be laughed out of high school. After seeing the 170 unique
outfits Rain Price's dad wore to send him off to the school bus last
school year, I have a feeling you will quietly live through those black
socks and orange shorts your father likes to wear to Walmart...
According to the Daily Mail, Dale Price of American Fork, Utah, loves to
dress up, and his son has a good sense of humor about it all. In many of
the photos, you can see other family members dressed up next to Dale, as
well as images of students waving back from the bus. The family has
since started a blog about the 170 days of potential reputation-busting
sends-offs, called Wave at the Bus, which has received over 7 million
pageviews already. The family has been on Good Morning America, and even
recently launched an iPhone app, so you can enjoy each costume worn by
Dale.

ATM dispenses mouse instead of cash
A Saudi man who inserted his ATM card into the cash machine to withdraw
money from his bank account, got a mouse instead of cash. When the
requested sum popped out of the machine and the man stretched his hand
to pull it out, a mouse suddenly jumped out and landed in his hand
before jumping again and running away. “Just as I was about to get the
money, a mouse jumped out of the machine………after I got the money, I
noticed that some of the notes had been gnawed by the mouse,” Okaz
newspaper quoted the man as saying in his southern home town of Ahad
Rufaidah.
