Coromandel Bach
This 2-bedroom shipping container designed by Crosson Clarke Carnachan
Architects is located in Coromandel, New Zealand. The home is open and
spacious, while the bedrooms are enclosed and private. A large fireplace
allows winter occupation and the open bathroom and movable bath allows
the rituals of bathing to become a connection to nature. |

The Zigloo Project
The Zigloo Project designed this modern 1,920 square-foot 3 bedroom 2
bath home. It’s made up of 8 containers and salvaged stairs. The heating
system is in the floor. Hot water tubes are integrated to the concrete
floor finish and it provides year round comfortable temperatures in a
very efficient hot water-on-demand boiler system. |

Porta-Bach
The “Porta-Bach” container designed by Atelier Workshop has built-in
wood paneling, kitchenette, bunk beds, and a fold-out terrace and to top
it all off totally mobile. Bach is short for bachelor pad in New
Zealand. |

The Insta-House
The Insta-House in Amagansett, New York is a prefab container art studio
designed by Maziar Behrooz Architecture. It’s made up of four 8×40
recycled containers with two bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen, and
living room. This well-designed, environmentally conscious home can be
fabricated in just 8 weeks and installed for a very affordable price of
$149,000. |

Sleeping Around
Sleeping Around is a Belgium pop-up hotel that travels the world on
demand. The hotel is made up of 7 shipping containers that can be
shipped anywhere a customer requests. The hotel has its own water system
and provides guests with box spring beds with high quality linen,
walk-in showers, and more. Once in their chosen locations, the hotel
rooms can be set up and fully functional under 6 hours.

Porchetta is a temporary restaurant in Montreal, Canada that serves
Italian food out of a shipping container in collaboration with Muvbox.

Caterpillar House
Sebastián Irarrázaval’s prefabricated Caterpillar House was designed and
built for an art collector and his family on the outskirts of Santiago,
Chile. It has everything from massive mountaintop views to hot tubs and
rooftop decks.

12 Container House by Adam Kalkin
Another Kalkin creation, the Push Button House is exactly what it sounds
like: A house that appears with the push of a button. Motorized walls
unfurl like draw bridges to reveal furniture secured to the walls/floor.
