might not always pop out as larger than life personalities and overnight
revolutions. They inhale in between us and with their powerful dreams
and vision they are able to make a significant mark.
Pakistan is undoubtedly the land of heroes; with all those amazing
figures who have been associated with lifting up the image of the
country; making the nation proud, but is rarely known to their follow
countrymen. As the nation celebrates its 69th Independence Day, let’s
recall all those heroes who played their part in making it a prosperous
nation. This article will highlight the achievements of some talented
Pakistanis with remarkable contributions.

Maria Toorpakai Wazir

training and competing as a boy in Peshawar until she could not hide her
gender any longer. Today she is Pakistan’s top female squash player and

She is the first Pakistani to travel into space and has been recognized
as the first Pakistani astronaut by the government of Pakistan in 2006.
She is also a peace activist and was awarded with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in

Mehak Gul
Who said girls can’t achieve glory? Thirteen-year-old Mehak Gul has made
impossible possible when she became the youngest Pakistani to qualify
for the World Chess Olympiad. Gul, who started playing chess at the age
of six, has also won several provincial and national chess
championships.

Haris Khan
Haris Khan has become the youngest App developer of the word at the age
of 10. Haris khan belonging to Ireland has Pakistani ethnicity Irish
newspaper reported that Haris Khan's Game " Super Soccer Kicks" is
available on apple store and it has been downloaded 400 times since its
launch in February 2014. Harris khan is developing few more apps and
they will be published very soon.

Ayesha Farooq
The sky was never the limit for 26-year-old Ayesha Farooq who created
history by becoming the first female fighter pilot of Pakistan. Hailing
from Bahawalpur, she is one of the 19 women who have achieved the rank
of pilot in the Pakistan Air Force over the last decade. She is
currently assigned to missions in a Chinese-made F7PG fighter jet
alongside her 24 male colleagues in Squadron 20.

Mir Zafar Ali
Mir Zafar Ali is an Oscar-winning movie visual effects curator who has
given life to characters such as Venom in Spider Man 3 as well as
several other Hollywood flicks such as X-Men and The Mummy. He won an
Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2007 for his immaculate work in the
