The Alila Jabal Akhdar Resort is located in the heart
of Jabal Akhdar, more than 2,000 meters up and isolated in Al Hajar
Mountains range in Oman, about 150 km from Muscat. |
|
|
The resort sits on a cliff-top and overlooks a dramatic gorge surrounded
by spectacular views of the expansive Omani landscape.
Designed by UK-based outfit Atkins, the resort was constructed from
local stones and wood, using traditional building techniques mixed with
contemporary architecture.
|
|
Other than the infinity pool that follows the curve of the plateau, the
stone façades of the luxury resort blends seamlessly into the landscape.
The resort has 78 suites, either located within the main hotel building
or arranged in individual clusters.
|
|
The villas are generously spaced out around the cliff-top, maximizing
privacy and providing uninterrupted views over the mountains and down
into the gorges.
Facilities within the resort includes restaurant and bar, day spa,
heated outdoor and indoor pools and gym.
|
|
The resort is located within a short driving distance of several small
villages.
With hiking trails, caves, abandoned villages, campsites and fruit farms
in the vicinity, the Alila Jabal Akhdar Resort is the perfect base for
exploring the region’s magnificent landscape.
