NBPDCL stands for North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited. It was set up on 1 November 2012 as part of Bihar's power sector reform, when the Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) was divided. The company operates under BSPHCL (Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited).

- Open your browser.
- Go to nbpdcl.co.in.
- On the homepage find the Instant Payment section on the left side.
- Click View/Pay Bill.
- Enter your CA number.
- Enter the captcha code.
- Click "Submit."
Your current bill details appear on screen.
Via the Bihar Bijli Smart Bill App
- Download the Bihar Bijli Smart Bill app
- Open the app and go to "Bill Details & Pay Bill"
- Enter your CA Number to view your current bill instantly
What is Your CA Number?
"CA Number" stands for the Consumer Account Number. It is an 11 digit unique code to identify a consumer. It is printed on your electricity bill under the heading Khata Sankhya.
How to View NBPDCL Bill History?
You can access your NBPDCL bill history for up to 6 months. Here is how
Via the Website
- After checking the bill on the web portal,
- Click the "Bill History" tab on the bill page
- A list of your last 6 bills will appear
- Click on any bill to view or download it
Via the App
- Log in to the Bihar Bijli Smart Bill app
- Go to "Payment History" or "Bill History"
- Your past 6 months of bills and payments will be displayed
- Tap on any entry to see the full details
For history beyond 6 months, visit your nearest NBPDCL divisional office with your CA number. Staff can print older records for you.
How to Do Your NBPDCL Bill Download?
To do an NBPDCL bill download and save it on your device, follow these steps:
- Once you check the bill on the portal, click the download button.
- The bill gets saved in PDF format on your device.
NBPDCL bill download PDF helps you to save your bills' records digitally. After 6 months, you will not be able to see this record on the portal.
How to Do a NBPDCL Bill Payment?
There are a few methods for the NBPDCL bill payment.
Pay via the NBPDCL Website or Bihar Bijli Smart Bill App
- Once you view your bill,
- Click "Pay Now"
- Select your payment gateway — UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking
- Enter your credentials
- Confirm the payment
- Save your receipt
- You will receive an SMS confirmation
Pay via UPI and Payment Apps
Select "Electricity," choose "NBPDCL," and enter your CA Number on any of these apps:

Online payments usually reflect in 24 to 48 hours. Always save your payment screenshot or transaction ID until your next bill confirms it.
Pay at Vasudha Kendra / CSC (Offline)
- Visit your nearest Vasudha Kendra (Common Service Center)
- Provide your bill and cash
- The staff will process the payment and give you a printed receipt
It is useful for those in rural areas or those who prefer cash payment
NBPDCL Bill Check by Meter Number
Most NBPDCL online services use the CA Number. NBPDCL bill check by meter number is not supported. For bill check and payment online, always use your CA number.

If you only have your meter number and not your CA number, call NBPDCL customer care at 1912. Tell them your meter number and registered address. They can locate your CA number and bill details.
Bihar Government Free Electricity Scheme
From August 2025 the Bihar government provides 125 units of free electricity per month. It is for all domestic consumers. If your household uses 125 units or less in a billing cycle, your bill will be ₹0. This benefit is applied automatically. You do not need to apply for it.
