What is WAPDA Green Meter?

WAPDA Green Meter Bill

The bill is calculated by adjusting the amount imported and exported to the grid by the consumer. Here is the simple WAPDA green meter bill calculation pattern explained with an example:

• During off-peak hours, consume 50 units from the grid and export 300 units to get credits for 250 units to be adjusted with the peak hours bill.
• During peak hours, consume 100 units from the grid—no energy generated from solar or exported to the grid—and get charged for 100 units.
• Net bill: Off-peak hour credits (250 units) - Peak hour charges (100 units) = 150 units will be the amount payable by the consumer.

Green Meter WAPDA Requirement

The first step to be eligible for the net metering is to meet the Green Meter WAPDA requirement. Following are the main requirements if you want to apply for this system:

• An active WAPDA connection with billing history
• Installed solar system with more capacity than monthly usage
• Application prepared according to NEPRA guidelines
• Inspection and No Objection Certificate (NOC)
• Signed agreement with the DISCO
