Personal Profile About Aitzaz Ahsan
Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan is a Pakistani barrister, senior Supreme Court advocate, politician, author, and human rights activist. The Aitzaz Ahsan biography notes that he was born on September 27, 1945, in Murree, Punjab (then British India). He earned a BA in 1965, followed by an MA and LLM in 1967.
Ahsan joined the PPP in 1970, and was elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly. He served as Provincial Minister for Information, Planning, and Development. He later served multiple terms in the National Assembly and Senate. He also served as the Federal Minister for Law and Justice and Leader of the Opposition.
In his legal career, Ahsan is the senior partner at Aitzaz Ahsan & Associates. He has also served as president of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan.
