Syed Ali Haider Zaidi is a Pakistani politician who served as the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs from 11 September 2018 to 10 April 2022. He is the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh chapter. He has been previously also remained a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 to April 2022.
Ali Zaidi Political History
In the 2002 general election, Ali Zaidi ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the Sindh Provincial Assembly as a PTI candidate from constituency PS-116. He won his 2,941 votes and lost the seat to MMA candidate Nasrullah Khan.
In the 2013 general election, Ali Zaidi ran for a seat in the Pakistan National Assembly as his PTI candidate for NA-252 (Karachi-XIV) constituency and NA-208 he was a candidate for Jacobabad constituency, but was unsuccessful. On 11 September 2018, he was accepted into the Union Cabinet by Prime Minister Imran Khan and appointed as Union Minister of Maritime Affairs.
