Arfa Abdul Karim Randhawa was a Pakistani student and computer prodigy who became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in 2004. The Arfa Abdul Karim Randhawa biography notes that she kept that title until 2008 and was submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records. She represented Pakistan at events such as the TechEd Developers Conference. At age 10 she was invited by Bill Gates to visit Microsoft’s headquarters in the United States.
She received major honors in 2005: the Presidential Pride of Performance, the Fatimah Jinnah Gold Medal, and the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award. A science park, named the Arfa Software Technology Park, in Lahore is named in her honor. Arfa was born on 2 February 1995 in Faisalabad and passed away from cardiac arrest on 14 January 2012 at age 16.
