Farooq Hamid Naek is a Pakistani politician and senior lawyer. He is a high-ranking member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He served as the Member of the Senate from Sindh, Deputy Attorney General, Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Chairman of the Senate, and various leadership roles in bar associations at the Karachi, Sindh, and Pakistan levels. Post-retirement from the Senate in 2021, he continues his work in legal and political advisory roles.
Farooq Naek notes that he was born on July 1, 1947, in Karachi, Pakistan. He earned an LLB and an MA in economics. He began his legal career as an advocate in local courts in 1970, later becoming an advocate of the High Court and the Supreme Court. He also served as a civil judge and first-class magistrate and briefly as assistant director at Sindh’s Directorate of Labour and Social Welfare. He joined PPP in the mid-1970s.
