Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Awan was a senior Pakistani politician and a founding leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party. He was a close associate of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He served as a federal minister during Benazir Bhutto's government in 1988. He was also a provincial minister in Punjab during the Bhutto era.
