Mehboob Ullah Jan is a Pakistani politician who served as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. Here's a summary of his political journey.In the 2002 Pakistani general election, Mehboob Ullah Jan contested for the National Assembly seat from Constituency NA-23 (Kohistan) as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) but did not succeed, securing 10,630 votes and losing to Abdul Halim Khan.

He contested again as an independent candidate in the 2008 Pakistani general election and won the National Assembly seat from Constituency NA-23 (Kohistan), securing 14,100 votes and defeating Haji Misar Khan, a candidate of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP). Subsequently, he joined the PPP. Later, he switched his allegiance to Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (F) (JUI-F) and contested the 2013 Pakistani general election from the same constituency but lost to Sar Zamin Khan, securing 12,337 votes.

In the 2018 Pakistani general election, Mehboob Ullah Jan contested as a candidate of PML(Q) from NA-11 (Kohistan-cum-Lower Kohistan-cum-Kolai Palas Kohistan) but was defeated by Afreen Khan, a candidate of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), receiving 12,627 votes.
