Mir Sadiq Sanjrani is a Pakistani politician and a sitting senator from Balochistan since 2018. He served as Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan until March 2024. He made history as the first chairman from Balochistan and the youngest ever, taking office at the age of 39.
He has remained an independent politician since 2018. Before that, he was linked with political alliances involving PML-N and PML-Q. He comes from a modest tribal family in rural Balochistan. His father, Mir Muhammad Aslam Sanjrani, was a local influential figure. His brother, Ejaz Sanjrani, has served as a former MNA.
The Sadiq Sanjrani biography states that he was born on April 14, 1978, in Nok Kundi, Chagai District, Balochistan, Pakistan. He belongs to the Baloch Sanjrani tribe. He completed a BSc from the University of Balochistan and later earned a master’s degree in political science. He resides between Quetta and Islamabad.
