According to Shahzain Bugti biography, he led the Jamhoori Wattan Party from 2015 and was in Pakistan's National Assembly from 2018 to 2023. He served as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Balochistan harmony in 2021. He also became Minister of Narcotics Control in 2022.
