Shahzain Bugti entered politics as a member of the famous Baloch family. He is the grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti and son of Talal Bugti. According to Shahzain Bugti biography, he led the Jamhoori Wattan Party from 2015 and was in Pakistan's National Assembly from 2018 to 2023. He served as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Balochistan harmony in 2021. He also became Minister of Narcotics Control in 2022. Bugti worked on peace in Balochistan and handled provincial matters in federal jobs. He faced scandals like a 2010 arrest for illegal arms and quitting the cabinet in 2022, blaming the PTI government. In 2024, he participated in the elections but lost.
