Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza is a Pakistani politician and physician affiliated with the Grand Democratic Alliance. He served as Sindh's senior home minister (2008-2011), overseeing law enforcement during rising violence in Karachi. He resigned dramatically in 2011 and accused the MQM of violence in Karachi. He earned his MBBS in 1980 from LUMHS. He briefly served as a captain in the Pakistan Army Medical Corps. He was discharged in 1985 for refusing to vote in a military referendum. He entered politics with the Pakistan Peoples Party, winning a National Assembly seat from Badin in 1993. He left the PPP in 2018 to join the GDA.
