LARKANA: Students of Sindh University Larkana campus boycotted the second
paper of the second semester on Wednesday in protest over non-registration of
the campus and shortage of faculty there.
The students, after boycotting the exam, staged a sit-in at the main gate of the
campus which is temporarily housed in the building of Government College of
Commerce and Arts.
Kashif Soomro, Basit Makani and Niaz Chandio led the protest and raised slogans
against what they described as the indifferent attitude of the university
management.
Safeer Mirani, student of the fourth semester of BS Computer Science, who is
also a spokesman for the protesting students, told Dawn that students of the
fourth semester would boycott the papers of Thursday.
He said the protest would continue till acceptance of their demands.
The Larkana campus was established in 2012 which is being run without proper
facilities in all sections.
Currently, he said, 250 students were admitted in BS Computer Science, English
and BBA. He said that people at the helm of affairs were threatening the
students for dire consequences if they did not stop the protest.
