Muhammad Safdar Awan, known as Capt. Safdar, is a Pakistani politician and retired army officer. He entered politics through his marriage to Maryam Nawaz, joining Pakistan Muslim League (N). He was elected to the National Assembly in 2008 from NA‑52 (Rawalpindi) and again in 2013 from NA‑21 (Mansehra‑cum‑Tor Ghar). He also led PML‑N’s youth wing, helping mobilize young supporters. Safdar attracted controversy for his outspoken support of Mumtaz Qadri and remarks against the Ahmadiyya community.
