Did Quaid-E-Azam Want A Secular State?!

(Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Karachi)

MQM Tehreek-e-Quaid Mr. Altaf Hussein on Friday in his press conference claimed that wrong history of Pakistan was being taught to Pakistani nation whereas Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah never chanted the slogan “PAKISTAN KA MATLAB KIA, LA ILAHA ILLALLAH”! It is absolutely acceptable as the slogan was not chanted by Quaid-e-Azam but people raised that slogan at the time of struggling for Pakistan!

On the other hand Mr. Altaf Hussein declared Quaid-e-Azam a secular and said that Jinnah wanted to establish secular Pakistan! I want to inform Mr. Hussein that as it is not written in the history that Jinnah chanted the slogan above mentioned, so it is not written either that Mr. Jinnah was a secular and wanted a secular Pakistan! But if we see the history, we learn that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah wanted a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent! Also if he had been a secular, surely he would have kept the name of his party “Awami League”, “Muttahida League” or any other name that could show secularism but he chose the name “Muslim League” for his party that definitely denies the fact told by Altaf Hussein!
