Valuable Donkey, Worthless Wife

This happened thirty or forty years ago, a man from a tribal background got married to a girl who was her parents’ only daughter.
Several children had died before and after her birth.
At that time, her father made a vow

If this daughter of mine survives and stays alive, I will not take any money (Walwer) at the time of her marriage. I will give her away freely for the sake of God (fee sabeelillah)
Sometime after the marriage, one day it was raining outside and the cold was intensifying.
The man said to his wife to please untie his donkey, which was tied outside, and bring it in carefully so it wouldn’t catch a cold.
The wife said,
You care so much about your donkey, but you don’t care about me at all. I could also catch a cold.
The husband replied,
I bought the donkey for five hundred rupees, you on the other hand I got for free.
