Bangladesh situation has worsened: We do not see any wisdom in government action
(Shahzad Shameem, Abbottabad)
On Sunday and Monday so many
events have taken place which have made the national situation more
clumsy.Hefazate Islam processions were obstructed by police in Paltan area
resulting in clashes and deaths. On Monday dead of night( 3pm) there was massive
police and other agencies crackdown in Shapla Chattar on sleeping Ulama and
people .The area was vacated and there had been many deaths and wounded are
innumerable. No body knows the number of death.
On Monday night Diganta TV and Islamic TV have been forced to close down.Their
fault , they were broadcasting live the events in Shapla Chattar and other
places.
Other important developments are the government has rejected 18 party alliance
ultimatum for poll time non-party government. The BNP will hold demonstration to
day for realization of their demand. The Awami League will hold demonstations
against Hefazate Islam.
The secular press has reported in an extremely bised manner the news of the last
two days.A national English daily headlines are, "Hefazat strikes horror",
"Hefazat men flee Motijheel".The details are worse. Ministers have, as
usual, blamed Jamaate Islami and Islami Chatra Shibir for everything .This is an
old disesase of them and secular quarters.
The situation is indeed bad.We do not know the future program of Hefazate
Islam. We can foresee that that things have not ended, rather may have just
started. The divide between Islamists and seculars has widened. The divide between
BNP and Awami League has also widened. We are afraid of our future. We pray to
Allah to help us..
