Lesson to Learn
(Muhammad Waseem Abbas, Lahore)
                I might have been overly
critical to our politicians only in my last article "What is This?". I am sorry
for not doing justice to the prevailing issue discussed in the article.
In fact we all are responsible for our balefulness. We all have equally been
playing havoc with our homeland. Politicians are not the only responsible of
destructibility. Beside politicians there are Martial Laws, or you can say
Martial Governments, and also the citizens and inhabitants of Pakistan who
played equal role in down-right. Who elected and selected these politicians to
come over to rule us and govern our country? Undoubtedly the citizens.
Politics is not my cup of tea. I have no interest in politics. But what
compelled me to say something are surely the current scenario of Pakistan
politics. As you all know that every one today knows well about politics. So I
am also aware of how-knows of this hide and seek game.
Our ancestors sacrificed their lives, their lading and appurtenance, even they
sacrificed their veneration, repute and honor to get a separate homeland. It was
not a child's play or duck soap to get Pakistan. It was not the end. Even after
the creation of Pakistan our parents carried a lot of weight to make it run and
appear like a shining star on the map of the world. But, did you ever think
seriously, what we did to this beloved estate? We indulged in aisiamentum and
podded to doing nothing seriously. Just observe, we cannot even sit in office or
at home without Air conditioner. We cannot walk on foot for a little distance.
We are waiting for some divine saviour to live happy life. But beware of the
fact that life is not a bed of roses. If we want to make a real progress, we
have to work restlessly day and night. We need to make a firm determination to
make our country ever more powerful, peaceful and prosperous country.
We have been victimized of terrorism for more than decade. Recently Balochistan
education minister and PPP leader Shafeeq Ahmed Khan has been shot dead. Before
this macabre and eldritch action of terror several other dynamic leaders,
political, religious and other, have been threat to death by terrorists. How
longer this critical situation will prolong? If our leaders and martial men are
not secure from terrorist, how a poor laborer or inerrant student can be?
To pint-size the long talk I want to say that if this deplorable situation
persists we will once again lose our freedom and fall back into the lap of
slavery. We need to rectify the system, and it is possible only by rectifying
our own self individually and collectively. We have to hang together because
only synergic actions can make us to break off all the obstacles in the way of
progress. So stop blaming each other and lets start with good worth.
