What's Wrong with Freedom of Speach?

(Muhammad Affan Ahmed, Multan)

When you say speech, you mean all types of speech both positive and negative. As speech is a general word, not specifically a positive one. Thus when you say Freedom of Speech, it also includes freedom of hate speech, blasphemy, mockery and other disrespectful expressions that may hurt some specific race. It may also include freedom to abuse anyone, freedom of using foul language. It is said that freedom of expression "is limited by strict defamation and privacy laws", and "some of the toughest hate speech laws in the EU" But no one has observed any restrictions yet.
This right is unjustified unless they imply some limitations in it. When you physically hurt someone, you will be arrested. But if you hurt someone through your words, you may not face any resistance from the legislation as you are free to speak anything. While it was a white man who said that stick and stones may break the bones but words can break ones heart. Moreover, Christians also believe in the following verses:

The tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do! __James 3:5 (TLB)
Set a guard over my mouth,Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips__Psalm 141:3
Death and life are in the power of the tongue__Pro 18:21

Those who claim to be the most civilized nation have allowed the people to do something more than a "Murder" through their words. Although the incident that recently took place in France has came out to be a fraud; It was not done by any Muslim. But still there are many contradictions in it other than the fraud itself. In any type of case, cause is always discussed before its effect. And to eliminate the effect, the cause is eliminated first. But contrary to it, the French media put emphasis on the murder rather than the blasphemous actions. When they said murder, they forgot what it stands for. They did not care about the cause and kept on discussing the effect like something that is already planned before to perform. Moreover they murdered the Chief Inspector but made an excuse that he has committed a suicide. To prove Muslims a terrorist was the only purpose, then why would had they considered to discuss the blasphemy as it was not their main purpose!

Muslims claim that they do not bear any blasphemy and disrespect of their beloved Prophet Muhammad (s). They call him their beloved. It will definitely hurt them if they hear someone talking trash about him or even calling his name disrespectfully. They claim that their Prophet is more than anything to them and the enemies of their Prophet are their enemies as well. Knowing all this, the Europeans should take this matter seriously. As they call themselves civilized nation, they should respect others feelings and emotions. But they never do and never ever did. Muslims have always been peaceful, but after conducting such blunders Europeans should not expect any peace or love from the Muslims as it is something more than provoking a war, as inferred from the strong beliefs of Muslim about their Prophet (s). That was your freedom of expression and now this one is of the Muslims.

They criticise the verse of the Quran that "Jihad will keep on taking place till the end of this world" and so did accursed William Gladstone by saying that: so long as there is this book, there will be no peace in this world. It is actually a misconception. That verse is not a command but a premonition that Jihad will never end. It means there shall remain the enemies of Islam till the end of this world. So the justified answer to the William Gladstones quote is: So long as there are enemies of Muhammad (s), Quran and Islam, there will be no peace in this world. Because Muslims are a powerful nation. Messing with a power without any reason is the real peace-disturbing act. They think the views of the Muslims promote the terrorism but the real terrorism is promoted by those who mock their views. Why have they considered offering the prayers in a public place illegal in France? does it contain any mockery or blasphemy? suddenly they forget the freedom of expression at this stage.
