Blessed Be The Sacred Land

(Zainab Taqvi, Karachi)

Beginning of August seems same for the whole world but for us 'Pakistanis' it is the beginning of the most worthwhile month filled with memories of sacrifices and freedom, stories of love, hatred and patriotism. A month which contains the most valuable day for a native '14 August' Independence Day of Pakistan when Green and white flag sways high in sky with all it's beauty. The day when Pakistan appeared on world map with all authorities. This year 14 August celebrations are dedicated to the defenders who are currently engage in battlefield Zarb-e-Azb a war against terrorism for protection and defense of beloved country. They are our true heroes who are Pakistan's sheild. They take bullets on their chest which are aimmed on their motherland. We also recall and appreciate our national heroes and those unknown people who sacrificed there life, wealth and even there loved ones for the sake of freedom and independence.

In the flood of people gathered to listen to their beloved leaders the voice of Muhammad Ali Jinnah was encoring:
"There is no powers on earth that can undo Pakistan."

People were roaring 'Pakistan Zindabad' and were encouraging there leaders who were devoted to there targets. They were looking forward for the freedom of Muslims and were dreaming for a Soverign State. A state where they can freely live and pray. A country where they have liberty to preach and practice Islam. A place where there will be Unity and humanity before all differences, races and cast. There will be only one cast, one race and one identity that is 'Pakistan'. On 14 August 1947 this captivating aspiration came true after untiring effort of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, enthusiastic poetries of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, persisting ventures of All Indian Muslim League and countless sacrifices of muslims to achieve this dream. The day Muslims of subcontinent were blessed with Pakistan was the most beautiful day of there life when there prayers and efforts were accomplished.

After 68 years when we are celebrating Independence day we can recall countless incidents that took place in history to undo Pakistan and to damage the establishment of our country. Our parts such as Hyderabad Duccan, Junnagarh and other territories were snatched in initial stages after establishment. Kashmir issue is still disputed after lots of sacrifices there is no result. War of 1965 and Kargal War were fought to weaken the state. We lost our another half in 1971 which is now called Bangladesh. Later talibanities and terrorism were introduced to demoralize our country. Mosque, schools, markets, ralleys and gathering were targeted and bombarted to destroy our unity and strength. People of different sects and races were targeted to increase raciasm but still they failed to upset the stability of Pakistan which still lies on map with all it's beauty. They failed because beside all financial and political issues we have patrotic nation who stand united with their armed force to strenghten Pakistan. Today, when armed forces are fighting against terror we are standing beside them and are here to encourage and appreciate them as by supporting them we are providing stability and confidence to our country and defenders.

We have memorized every sacrifice given at the time of partition and we can feel their pain in our heart. We have not forgotten those sacrifices which still fill our eyes with tears. Those students of APS who went school and never came back and they were crushed before they were flourished. We still remember Aitizaz Hussain Bangash who sacrificed his precious life and saved hundreds of fellow students. We still remember our heroes who were gone to defend borders and slept under Snow of Siachen. We remember our brothers who were bombarted on Ashurah 2010. We still remember martyrs of Quetta, Parachinar and Hazara Community. We remember Al-Azhar community people who were cruely martyred. We remember every martyr who lost his life in Zarb-e-Azb and war against terrorism. We remember every percious life which were given in the name of Pakistan and for this land's permenance. Here I want to quote word of 'Father of Nation':
"In Pakistan lies our deliverance, defence and honour."

That is why we feel free to sacrifice our lives and wealth for the sake of our country.

People call us terrorist but we are not terrorist we are actually victims of terrorism. We have given thousands of sacrifices to eliminate violence. We are those who are fighting against man brutality and violence. We have sacrificed our young and adults in the way of peace. Beside all terrible condition we also have brighter side of Pakistan and let us be proud of them. We have Edhi's philanthrophy with largest NGO working in the world saving and serving humanity in distress. Pakistan even do not lack in talent. We have fastest growing IT industry with the shinning stars like Arfa Kareem and Ayan Qureshi. We have world's best army equiped state of the art best defence system. We have Ali Moeen Nawazish notably famous for setting a record of acing 23 subjects in the Cambridge O-Level examinations. We have Naiza Khan visual artist and the recipient of the 2013 Prince Claus award. we have Salima 'the first Pakistani' to travel into space. We have Dr Naweed I Syed who is a globally acclaimed scientist of Pakistani origin and head of the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the University of Calgary’s Hotchkiss Brain Institute in Canada. We have Mir Zafar Ali who is an Oscar winner movie visual effects curator. We also have Mohsin Hamid who wrote best selling books. In this fast and cruel age our people still possess humanity, hospitality, love and devotion towards their country and nation. We have second highest peak of world "Godwin Austin K-2". The high ranges of Himalayas and Karakoram describes the sky piercing strength and passion of our people. Sawt, Gilgit, Kaghan, Naran and Kashmirare captivating tourism localities which possess astonishing beauty.

14 August is a day to recall history and remember every precious life who was sacrificed for Pakistan. A living nation do not forget there heroes because they are the reason we are breathing in a free air. It is our duty to be stairs for our country so that it can walk towards betterment. We should atleast do the reforms on our level and fulfill our responsibilities. Rather than cursing darkness we have to enlight our candle to show the way through brightness. We have to work enough so that the place we were born will be proud of us in future for which we need patriotism, motivation and dedication. In your celebrations donot forget our national heroes and defenders which are still on borders and in war and when we are celebrating this day they are protecting this country. Also, remember every soldier and family who beared their loss for sake of Pakistan.
"Interpretend of our past, glory of our present, inspiration of our future,
The cresent and the star leads the way to progress And persfection." -From Anthem of Pakistan.
